It has been confirmed that some Ghanaian fisher folk who dwell and fish on the borders of liberia have started returning home to Ghana with some showing symptoms of the EVD. Therefore the Ghana health service is calling on the General public to be on the red alert.
Also, people are advised to stay away from public swimming pools and also get hand sanitisers which do not cost a lot.
Use protective Gloves before touching or attending to sick persons.

Also, due to the recent outbreak of cholera in the country, people are advised to be more careful and call for medical attention immediately since one cannot differentiate some of the symptoms of cholera or Ebola.

The GHS has advised that anyone who suspects any symptoms of the disease should contact the GHS through the following numbers;

+233 3021 684271
+233 3021 684310

---------------------------------
Africa veterans will comprehend the impact of the present outbreak of Ebola. With appalling health conditions and standards in most locations where Ebola has found its victims, fighting the Virus is a sinister task - to say the least.

The Ebola virus - like other viruses - is an organism that spreads through contact primarily, but not only.-

Although the news suggest otherwise, an infected person standing, sitting ( coughing, sneezing, spitting - such as in China ) will definitely expel his/her viruses to others close to him.

In under sanitized areas (people have no or are without access to clean and hygienic places of convenience) this poses an additional problem.

We must be blunt here. People are defecating in the open in certain areas of the globe, whenever they feel the call of nature.

Not that this is something subject I would criticize - the aftermath is what counts. If you don't have a hand sanitizer, the spread of the virus is almost certain.

Leaves, grass, are not a suitable medium to prevent organisms from spreading.

After such action your handshake becomes almost a deathtrap - should you be infected with the Ebola virus.

We are not immune against the bug. Once it proliferates, chances are that you will die. Horribly, as pictures show.

There are more issues that enhance the spreading of the virus.

We have seen mentally disturbed people roaming the streets in dozens, on different locations.
What is notable is that females who are mentally deranged are mostly pregnant and deliver their children.

If those unfortunate females live on the roadside, ( dwell ) without access to sanitary facilities, and miraculously find a partner to copulate, then this is a serious risk factor of transmission.
Statistics are never available but the mere fact tells you everything.

( I will write my book about living in Africa later ).

The main factors :

  • Sexual transmission
  • Hygiene factor
  • Habitual factors
  • Migration factor
Therefore we need to understand the high risk factors compelling us to rethink our own strategy.

Travel :

My friend in Thailand looks awkward with his nose mask in Bangkok. He puts on a nose mask whenever he moves in buses, trains, and public places, as well as the street. ( some people look at him as a whack,  but in fact he is wiser than the rest  )

When the SARS outbreak was at its peak, I personally wore a nose mask throughout my travels in China. This prevented an infection. Passing in front of hundreds of passengers, travelers each day, your chances to get a bug are enhanced.

There is only one solution : Cut your travel to the bare minimum.

And use a protective mask, even if these idiots look at you in a funny way. They  are dumb - you are smart. Remember.

Hygiene

Make sure - wash your hands as much as possible, and include the back of your hands with soap.
Carry your sanitizing gel with you, always . Wherever, whenever, put a drop and rub your hands.

The video contained here contains some information about Ebola. It also contains latest finding.
It may help you so its worthwhile to watch.
